Government Arts and Science College has been started as Periyar University Constituent College of Arts and Science College, Sendamangalam affiliated to PeriyarUniversity Salem on 25.07 2017 based on the students of  kollihills are educationally mostback ward and tribes regional area.

Hence, the government put forth the step to develop this area in education. The college has been started with 5 UG programmes in the 2017. Then, in 2019 2 PG programmes were implemented in the college. In 2020 the college was fully under taken by the Government of Tamilnadu.
